This is the whole agreement — written like a human, because one wrote it. Two minutes, tops. Then a $20 deposit holds your date and we go make some good photos.
One photographer, one seriously good camera, natural light. No lighting rigs, no crew, no stiff posing — we hang out at a spot you love, you do your thing, I shoot generously. It's fun on purpose. If you're after a formal, art-directed studio production, I'll happily point you to photographers who do exactly that.
Before we part ways, every single frame transfers to you at full resolution. No editing or retouching — ever. That's a feature, not a corner cut: it's why the price is what it is, and why you're not waiting three weeks for a "gallery." Because you get everything, some frames will have blinks, blurs, or a photobomb — that's what shooting generously looks like. You keep the gems, delete the rest, and there will be plenty of gems.
A $20 deposit holds your date and comes off your total. Life happens: you get one free reschedule with 24+ hours' notice, and weather reschedules are always free (Colorado, we know). No-show without notice and the deposit stays with us — it's the babysitter rule. The rest is settled at the shoot, before the photo transfer.
I love showing off great shoots on the site and social — but only with your okay. There's a checkbox below; leave it unchecked and your photos are never shared anywhere, period. Either way, every photo is yours to print, post, and enjoy forever.
Plain English, no traps. This is everything your signature covers.
Every photograph taken during your session, at full resolution, delivered on the spot (device transfer or link). Delivery of the files completes the session. Photos are provided as-is, straight out of camera, with no editing, retouching, or post-processing of any kind — that trade-off is the product, and it's how the pricing stays low. Because every frame is included, some frames will be imperfect (blinks, motion blur, exposures between moments). Imperfect frames are an expected part of receiving everything, not a defect; curating is yours, and I shoot enough that you'll have plenty of keepers.
Photography is live and human: I can't guarantee any specific shot, look, pose list, or that any particular moment gets captured, and I don't promise a minimum number of "perfect" images. What I promise is generous shooting, careful use of natural light, and every frame handed over.
The $20 deposit reserves your time slot and applies to your session total. One reschedule is free with at least 24 hours' notice; weather-related reschedules are always free. If you don't show and don't give notice, the deposit is kept as the cost of the held slot. The remaining balance is due at the session, before file transfer. If I ever have to cancel and we can't find a new time, you get a full refund including the deposit — that's the whole remedy, and it's a real one.
Cameras and cards are machines. If equipment failure or file corruption means your photos can't be delivered, your remedy is a free reshoot or a full refund of everything you paid (your choice). That's the limit of what can be claimed — see the liability cap below.
You receive a full personal-use license to every delivered photo: print them, post them, share them, frame them, forever, no watermarks, no extra fees. A Geek & His Camera retains the photographer's copyright, and shares your photos publicly (portfolio, website, social) only if you check the sharing box below. You can withdraw sharing permission any time by emailing us — we'll take images down from our channels within a reasonable time.
Booking for others (family, kids, a group)? You confirm you're authorized to agree for them — for minors, that you're the parent or legal guardian. Everyone participates voluntarily.
Sessions happen in public parks, neighborhoods, and outdoor spots. You're responsible for your own belongings, kids, and pets during the session; I'm behind the camera, not lifeguarding. If a location needs a permit or entry fee, that's on the client. We'll both use common sense, and either of us can call off anything that feels unsafe.
To the fullest extent Colorado law allows, A Geek & His Camera's total liability for anything arising from a session is capped at the amount you actually paid for that session. Neither of us is liable to the other for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing here limits liability that can't legally be limited.
Tell me first — genuinely. I'd rather fix a problem than argue about it, and most things are fixable same-day. If we truly can't work it out, we agree to try 30 days of good-faith discussion, then resolve it in small claims court or binding individual arbitration in Denver, Colorado, under Colorado law. (And to be crystal clear: nothing in this agreement restricts your right to post an honest review — federal law protects that, and honest is all we ask.)
Typing your name below and submitting is your legal electronic signature — same as ink. This page plus your booking details are the entire agreement, and it's between you and A Geek & His Camera (a Digital Tech Team company), Denver, CO.
Send it whichever way is easiest and your date is officially held. I'll text you today to lock in time & place.
The deposit comes off your total · one free reschedule with 24h notice · weather never counts against you.
